STRENGTH, POWER AND CORE Get your summer off to a bang with three weeks of hard core training designed to help you excel in your sport. We will emphasize multi-joint lifts to maximize strength and will add power movements throughout the camp. Each session will close with 20 minutes of intense functional core exercises designed to accent your bodies ability to use its strength and power gains. Location is the brand new state of the art weight room at Essex High School as well as other areas of the athletic complex. AGE: 13-Adult TIME: 4:30-6:30pm LOCATION: New EHS Weight Room and Athletic Facilities FEE: TBD ULTIMATE CONDITIONING CAMP This camp will combine cardiovascular training with circuit and core training in two hours of a non-stop, hard core workout. Participants will increase cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance as well as core strength and stability. Designed for endurance athletes and fitness buffs. Learn to take your body to its potential and gain skills and knowledge to apply to the rest of the year. Inlcuded will be mental skills training sessions with a Sport Psychology Consultant to train your mind to take your body further. (this camp will enhance the STRENGTH, POWER, CORE camp offered M, W, F of the same weeks). AGE: 13-Adult TIME: 3-5pm LOCATION: New EHS Weight Room and Athletic Facilities FEE: TBD POWER AND AGILITY FOR ATHLETES Time to get ready for your fall sport or to learn new skills that will apply to any athletic activity. Using multiple performance enhancing techniques such as ladders, power cords and reaction drills, the camper will develop quicker feet, greater balance and improve their ability to change direction. A must for all athletes of sports requiring speed and explosiveness. Additionally, a Sport Psychology consultant will present short and useful mental skills training sessions throughout the camp designed to improve athletic performance. Proir to this he worked at UVM for 12 years in the athletic department.
- Sheila Stawinski, MA- Sheila is a sport psychology consultant and has a private practice. She also works with athltes at UVM and does leadership training to varsity captains at Essex HS.
